  • Bookings canceled within 24 hours (U.S. law compliant)
  • Reservations with active travel insurance (if covered)

Not Eligible for Cancellation

  • Non-refundable or heavily discounted tickets
  • Missed flights or no-shows
  • Fares marked as “final sale” or promotional

Cancellation Timeline

Timing is critical when canceling a booking. Below are typical cancellation timeframes:

  • Within 24 hours: Full refund (if flight is 7+ days away, per DOT rules)
  • More than 24 hours before departure: Airline rules apply; cancellation fees may apply
  • Less than 4 hours before departure: Usually non-cancellable

Cancellation Fees

Cancellation fees depend on airline policy, ticket class, and time of cancellation. Travelalerts may charge a nominal processing fee (usually up to $50) in addition to the airline’s charges.

You’ll be informed of all applicable charges before we process the cancellation.

  3. State your reason for cancellation, if required.
  4. We will confirm airline terms, applicable charges, and refund eligibility.
  5. You will receive confirmation of cancellation via email.

Airline Cancellation Rules

Every airline has its own rules for cancellations, refunds, and rebooking. Low-cost carriers may issue only credit vouchers, not refunds. Always review fare conditions at the time of booking.
